Woman, 39, Killed in Crash ID’d
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 22, 2023) — Donna Munoz, 39, died in a two-vehicle collision early Thursday, May 17th on West Mission Bay Drive in Mission Beach.
The collision occurred around 9 a.m. on May 18th between a Toyota Prius and a motorcyclist at West Mission Bay Drive and Quivera Road, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The woman was riding in the front passenger seat of a Toyota Prius. The driver was making a right hand turn from West Mission Bay Drive onto Quivira Road. However, at the same time, a motorcycle rider traveling in the same direction collided with the passenger side of the Prius.
Paramedics responded and rushed Donna Munoz to the Scripps Mercy Hospital. However, despite efforts to save her life, she died due to trauma, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Also, the 34-year-old man riding the motorcycle was ejected from his bike and died at the scene.
The case remains under investigation to determine fault for the fatal Mission Beach crash.
