Woman Killed Riding Bicycle at Sacramento Intersection
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2023) — Dorothy Josephine Baca, 63, died in a bicycle accident Sunday morning at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 21st Avenue in Sacramento.
The deadly collision occurred around 1:53 a.m. on August 27th, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
A driver in a vehicle and a bicyclist collided due to unknown circumstances.
Police responded and located the injured woman in the roadway. Police officers began rendering first aid to the patient until paramedics with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived. However, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Meanwhile, the driver involved failed to stop and fled the scene before police and paramedics arrived.
The Major Collisions Investigations Unit is heading up the investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified Dorothy Baca as the woman who died.
