At Least 1 Killed in Collision on SR-97
Dorris, CA (February 17, 2023) – One person suffered fatal injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on State Route Highway 97, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Officials said a big rig and a pickup truck collided on the highway in Dorris on February 15, Wednesday. CHP logged the case around 5:18 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found the big rig emitting smoke. Responding firefighters worked extensively to put out the fire that broke from the collision.
Deadly Traffic Crash in Dorris
Medical personnel checked the conditions of all the occupants in both the semi and pickup. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away.
Detectives assigned to handle the case stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly accident that happened on Highway 97 in Dorris.
