Two Killed in South LA Crash on South Vermont Avenue
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 6, 2025) – Two people died early Monday morning in a violent crash on South Vermont Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood in South Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 5:11 a.m. on Monday, May 5th in the 6600 block of South Vermont Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Witnesses told authorities they saw an SUV traveling over 100 mph and running red lights prior to the collision.
Police confirmed a man driving southbound in a Toyota RAV4 SUV on Vermont Avenue allegedly drove through a red traffic light and collided with a silver vehicle heading east on 66th Street.
Paramedics responded and transported the severely injured male driver and his passenger from the Toyota SUV to a hospital.
Meanwhile, two people from the victim’s vehicle, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s, both died at the scene. The identities of the victims and the suspect were not released.
Finally, the investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
