1 Injured in Douglas City Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 299 Near River Ranch
DOUGLAS CITY, CA (August 19, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 299 in Douglas City.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the accident at about 7:40 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Douglas City. They crashed on Highway 299, just east of River Ranch Road.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the cars as a Chevrolet Volt and a dark colored pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Neaman Gulch.
Medical personnel found one victim left wounded as a result of the collision. They then provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to help and fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 299 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Douglas City hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
