At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Highway 299 Saturday
Douglas City, CA (July 10, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on State Route 299 Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Primary reports indicated two vehicles collided at the junction of SR-299 and Riffle Lane in Douglas City. The make and model of the cars involved in the wreck have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 6 p.m., emergency teams arrived and attended to all parties found at the scene. The CHP log confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the victim, and the extent of their injuries remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Our sources confirmed a motorist involved in the collision fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
