5 Hospitalized in Suspected Street Racing Collision on Imperial Highway Saturday
Downey, CA (September 18, 2021) – Several people suffered injuries following a car crash that occurred in the area of Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard, the ABC7 News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed a two of those vehicles were possibly racing in the streets of Downey. At some point, the two cars and another vehicle collided at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard.
The crash took place Saturday morning.
When the rescue teams arrived at the site, they found a dark-colored vehicle overturned onto its roof; a white sedan with heavy damage; and a pickup truck completely wrecked.
Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all people involved in the collision. According to the article published online, as many as five people sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Ambulance later arrived, then transported the patients to multiple hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned police arrested at least one person on suspicion of felony reckless driving and hit-and-run.
