1 Injured in Downey Crash Near Old River School Road and Hondo Street
DOWNEY, CA (July 23, 2022) – One was hospitalized after a car crash near Old River School Road and Hondo Street in Downey.
According to an article published by the On Scene TV, the accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the collision at about 1:38 a.m.
The incident happened on July 22 when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Downey. They crashed near the intersection of Old River School Road and Hondo Street.
2 Cars Collide
The report described the cars as a sedan, and a pickup truck. The pick up truck obtained significant rear-end damage while the sedan caught fire upon impact.
The male driver of the sedan ended up trapped inside the car as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed him from the wreckage.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police forced the area of Old River School and Hondo to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Downey crash is still under investigation.
