Driver Trapped, Injured After Collision Near 605 Freeway
Downey, CA (February 4, 2023) – One person suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway, the On Scene TV News reported.
Officials said a Ford F-150 and a Swift Semi truck collided in the southbound side of I-5 on February 2, Thursday. According to the article published online, the Ford ended up pinned underneath the rear of the semi.

Shortly after 12:47 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. The Downey Fire Department worked extensively to extricate the victim trapped in the wreckage. Our sources indicated firefighters hooked up the semi trailer to a heavy load tow truck using a complex, redirect pully system. The emergency crews spent approximately an hour freeing the Ford driver. Medical personnel checked the condition of the victim, then transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the condition of the semi truck operator.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the traffic collision that happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Downey.
