Multi-Vehicle Car Accident on 5 Freeway
DOWNEY, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2023) — A multi-vehicle crash in the Downey area happened Friday on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Florence Avenue.
The collision occurred in the HOV and No. 1 lanes around 1:37 p.m. on Sept. 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A black Toyota Camry, a grey Chevrolet and a grey Hyundai Santa Fe were among the vehicles involved.
The Hyundai had moderate front and rear-end damage, the Chevrolet had major front-end damage and both required tow trucks.
It’s unknown what led to the collision at this time.
Paramedics responded to help anyone hurt in the car accident on the Interstate 5 in Downey. Investigators are working to determine fault for the accident.
