Downey Police Officer, Man, 25, Hurt in Head-On Crash
DOWNEY, Calif. (March 13, 2023) – Two people were injured in a crash Monday involving a Downey police SUV and a white car on Lakewood Boulevard.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. at Lakewood Boulevard and Columbia Way, the Downey Police Department said.
Both vehicles suffered major front-end damage and air bags were deployed.
The Downey Fire Department responded and treated the injured man from the car as well as the on-duty police officer. Paramedics transported the 25-year-old male driver of the white car and transported him to a local hospital for further treatment. He was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, authorities routed traffic away from the area to conduct an investigation.
