Driver Arrested for Stockton Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident on Eight Mile Road
STOCKTON, Calif. (July 21, 2026) — A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist and two dogs along Eight Mile Road in Stockton, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:18 a.m. June 27, 2026, on westbound Eight Mile Road east of Interstate 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was riding a bicycle while towing a shopping cart used as a trailer. Two dogs were also traveling with the bicyclist.
An approaching vehicle struck the bicyclist and the dogs before leaving the scene, according to the CHP. The bicyclist and both dogs suffered fatal injuries.
Investigators later identified the suspect vehicle as a silver or light gray 2011 to 2015 Ford Explorer. CHP investigators worked with the Delta Regional Auto Theft Team and the agency’s Crime Suppression Team to identify the vehicle and the driver.
On July 14, investigators located the suspected Ford Explorer. The vehicle showed signs consistent with its involvement in the fatal crash and was impounded as evidence, authorities said.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Larry Page, was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. He faces charges of felony hit-and-run resulting in death or injury under California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) and vehicular manslaughter under Penal Code Section 192(c).
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
The CHP reminded motorists involved in a crash to stop, call 911 and remain at the scene until emergency personnel arrive.
