Driver Dies After High-Speed Rear-End Collision in Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2026) — A man was killed in a violent crash Sunday evening after his vehicle slammed into another car in Palmdale, authorities said.

The collision was reported on Jan. 25th around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Rancho Vista Boulevard and Dunbar Street, according to sheriff’s officials.

Investigators said the driver of a 2019 Audi RS3 was allegedly traveling at an excessive speed when the vehicle struck the rear of a 2004 Scion XB. Sadly, the Audi’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Scion sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Sheriff’s officials said the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
