Teenager Injured in Hit-and-run Crash at Knoll and West Mission Roads

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2024) — Alan Edmundo Reyes, 23, was arrested on hit-and-run charges for a crash at Knoll and West Mission roads in San Marcos that left a teen e-bike rider injured.

The suspect went down to the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station on Monday and was arrested on charges of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving resulting in injury, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

The man reportedly fled the scene after his white 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck struck a teenager at the San Marcos intersection at 9 p.m. on Sept. 17th, the report said.

Paramedics responded and located the teen with serious injuries and transported him to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The name and age of the victim was not released.

Alan Edmundo Reye was booked into Vista county jail and was being held in lieu of $80,000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 26th.
