Driver Dead, Passenger Injured in Car Accident on Tremont Road Saturday
Solano, CA (April 19, 2021) – One person died, and several others suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash on Tremont Road on April 17, Saturday.
The CBS Sacramento published an article indicated an 18-year-old man from Woodland was behind the wheel of a black Ford Mustang. The Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed along Tremont Road.
Officials said the driver made an unsafe turn in the area near Buckley Road. For this reason, the Mustang veered off the roadway and overturned into a field.
Per local news source, the driver and an 18-year-old male passenger in the right backseat were both unrestrained at the time of the collision. First responders found the two parties ejected from the vehicle.
3 Passengers Hospitalized After Collision in Solano County, April 17
A medevac helicopter later landed at the scene and airlifted the ejected passenger to UC Davis Medical Center. The patient suffered life-threatening injuries from the crash.
Authorities added the remaining passengers–a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, both escaped death with major injuries. Paramedics transported the two patients to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, responding medical personnel reportedly performed life-saving measures to the driver. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Police continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Investigators believed alcohol impairment contributed to the catastrophic incident. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the deadly DUI car crash in Solano County.
