Deputies and Car Passengers Injured in Roseville DUI Crash Monday
ROSEVILLE (April 4, 2019) – Several were injured after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Roseville Parkway and Taylor Road on Monday afternoon, April 1.
Police said the incident began when 68-year-old Clyde Gray ran a red light at the intersection of East Roseville Parkway and Taylor Road at about 1 p.m.
The Rocklin man then struck three pedestrians who were crossing the street at the time. He ultimately collided with two other vehicles nearby.
According to The Mercury News, the pedestrians involved were described as a Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office deputy and two San Francisco Sheriff’s Department deputies. They were reportedly on duty and in Roseville for law enforcement training.
Suspect Clyde Gray, 68, Arrested For DUI
The deputies were immediately taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries considered as non-life-threatening. The occupants of the two cars that were also hit by Gray were treated at the scene for minor wounds.
The names of all the victims and their condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, Gray was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, as well as several misdemeanor warrants for driving under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.
