DUI Suspect Hits Child, Mom in Clovis Trader Joe’s Parking Lot

Mother and Child Hit by Driver in Parking Lot at Willow and Nees Avenues
CLOVIS, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2026) — A mother and her 5-year-old child were both struck by a truck driven by a suspected DUI driver Saturday in Clovis at the Trader Joe’s parking lot at Willow and Nees Avenues.
The collision occurred around 2 p.m. on Jan. 3rd, leaving the two victims with undisclosed injuries.
When officers arrived, they found the child conscious and alert. The mother and child were both transported by ambulance to the hospital with injuries and are expected to survive.
Finally, police arrested the driver, Steve Myer, 62, of Prather, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
