Multi-Vehicle Crash I-5 Freeway Near Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway
DUNSMUIR, Calif. (May 31, 2022) — A multi-vehicle Dunsmuir crash happened Tuesday on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway.
The collision occurred about 7 a.m. on May 31st near the Dunsmuir Municipal-Mott Airport, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a gray Toyota Camry and a GMC SUV collided head-on due to unknown circumstances. They also collided with a semi-truck during the crash.
Paramedics responded to help those injured in the crash. At least one person suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported them to the hospital. Tow trucks removed both of the damaged vehicles from the crash scene.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Dunsmuir crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
