Victim Struck by 17-Year-Old Driver in Parking Lot
STANTON, California (May 14, 2016) – A pedestrian identified as Duong Pham, 52, was killed in a hit-and-run collision Saturday morning in the area of Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard, according to The Orange County Register. (map)
The accident took place around 6:20 a.m.
As per the article, Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the pedestrian was walking through a parking lot when the person was struck by a 1993 Lexus driven by a 17-year-old boy.
The victim died at the UC Irvine Medical Center. The name of the deceased has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the 17-year-old motorist abandoned the car and took off the scene, but was later located several blocks away. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into juvenile hall.
