
Fourth of July Crash on State Route 99
DURHAM, Calif. (July 3, 2024) — A major injury car accident happened on Highway 99 near Neal Road on the July 4th holiday in Durham.
The 3-vehicle crash occurred on the northbound SR-99 at around 4:17 p.m. on July 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a silver Honda sedan reportedly rear-ended a black Chevrolet Camaro that was stopped at a light and then both vehicles collided with a stopped white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.
One person suffered a major head injury in the crash and was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Animal control officers responded to take a small puppy that was in the victim’s vehicle.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least two of the vehicles due to damage from the Highway 99 car accident in Durham.
Investigators from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office are working on the case.
