E-Bike Rider Injured in Chula Vista Car Accident Palomar Street, Raven Ave

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (June 23, 2026) — An adult riding an e-bike was seriously injured Tuesday in a traffic accident involving an SUV in Chula Vista on Palomar Street.

The collision occurred around 4:52 p.m. on June 23rd, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.

The cyclist and a Kia SUV were involved in the crash at East Palomar Street and Raven Avenue, authorities said.

Detectives working on the case reported the Kia SUV struck the rider at the intersection and the rider was thrown off the bike, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics responded and rushed the injured person to a local trauma center.

Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with the investigation and detectives do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment was a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash and liability will be determined.
