E-Bike Rider Killed in Huntington Beach Crash was Jeffrey Marlow, 21

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (July 28, 2026) —  Jeffrey James Marlow, 21, of Westminster, has died days after suffering critical injuries in a solo e-bike crash in Huntington Beach, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Plaza Lane, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Officers responding to the scene found the e-bike rider unconscious on the sidewalk adjacent to the roadway. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the man succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, July 26, and was pronounced deceased.

Based on a preliminary investigation, investigators believe the e-bike was traveling westbound on Warner Avenue, west of Plaza Lane, when the rider lost control and crashed. It’s unknown at this time if other factors, such as hazardous road conditions, a pothole, or a bike defect or malfunction, contributed to the collision.

Authorities also did not disclose if speed or impairment were a factor in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
