Woman Killed in Crash on I-5 Freeway Near Red Bluff
TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. (December 2, 2020) – Ea Douangaphay, and Ting Leutmixay, both survived a collision Tuesday night caused by a suspected DUI driver, but sadly, a 64-year-old woman in his vehicle was killed.
The collision took place Tuesday night on the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Mohammad Khesrawi, 52, of Lathrop, was driving a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder when he reportedly rear-ended Douangaphy’s 2009 Subaru Forester and it overturned.
A woman who was riding in the overturned Subaru was killed in the two-vehicle collision.
The crash took place on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Tehama Avenue between Red Bluff and Corning.
The impact of the collision caused the Subaru to overturn.
The woman who died had been seated in the back seat of Subaru. As the vehicle overturned, she was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, both drivers and the front-seat passenger of the Subaru, identified as Leutmixay, suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.
Later, police arrested Khesrawi on suspicion of DUI.
