Pedestrian Injured in Earlimart Hit-and-Run at Sierra Avenue and Church Road
EARLIMART, CA (September 17, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Sierra Avenue and Church Road in Earlimart.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 3:17 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Earlimart. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Sierra Avenue and North Church Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 99. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and then fled the area. Witnesses saw the suspect heading toward Avenue 76, west of Road 136.
Officers forced the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Church Road to close following the collision. The cause of the Earlimart hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
