Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at Atlantic and Compton
EAST COMPTON, CA (March 13, 2022) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Atlantic Avenue and Compton Boulevard in East Compton.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 9:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason. The two crashed at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Compton Boulevard.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near East Rancho Dominguez Park. They found the motorcyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Long Beach Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Atlantic and Compton to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
