1 Killed in East Los Angeles Crash at Olympic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (October 7, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash at Olympic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue in East Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic wreck took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the accident at about 9:49 p.m.
CHP said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles. They crashed at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
One of the cars involved then caught fire upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated a trapped female occupant from the wreckage.
Medical personnel soon pronounced one person dead. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other party ended up hurt following the wreck. Officers forced the area of Olympic and Garfield to shut down after the collision.
The cause of the fatal East Los Angeles crash is still under investigation.
