1 Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash at Hammel and Hazard
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (September 15, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person at Hammel Street and Hazard Avenue in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 3:40 p.m.
CHP said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles on September 14. They crashed at the intersection of East Hammel Street and North Hazard Avenue.
The incident log described the cars involved as a blue Honda Pilot, a red colored vehicle and a black Infiniti. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Multiple Cars Collide
Medical personnel found an occupant of the red car who complained of pain as a result of the collision. They then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the accident.
The name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the male driver of the Infiniti did not stop to help and fled the area.
Witnesses described the suspect wearing all black and a gold chain. They last saw his car parked at 524 North Hazard Avenue.
Officers forced the eastbound and westbound Hammel to shut down following the wreck. The East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
