Pedestrian Seriously Injured in East Los Angeles Crash at Whittier Boulevard and Via Del Oro
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (April 7, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after an accident at Whittier Boulevard and Via Del Oro Street in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday night, April 6. According to their dispatch, officers reported the crash at about 9:13 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Via Del Oro Street in East Los Angeles.
Victim Hit by Vehicle Near Garfield Avenue in East L.A.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near Garfield Avenue. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the motorist stopped after hitting the pedestrian. They forced the roadway to briefly shut down following the collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the East Los Angeles crash.
