Pedestrian Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at Alma and Cesar E Chavez
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (January 20, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash injured a pedestrian at Alma and Cesar E Chavez avenues in East Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the collision at about 8:41 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles. The driver hit the person at the intersection of North Alma and East Cesar E Chavez avenues.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Evergreen Cemetery. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. They described the car as a 2011 Lexus 4-door sedan.
Officers forced the corner of Alma and Cesar E Chavez avenues to shut down following the collision. The cause of the East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
