Pedestrian Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at Clela and Whittier
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (October 21, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a pedestrian at Clela Avenue and Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place late Thursday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 11:44 p.m.
CHP determined that a vehicle struck the pedestrian in East Los Angeles. The driver hit the person for an unknown reason at the intersection of Clela Avenue and West Whittier Boulevard.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near a health center. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unknown injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Clela and Whittier to close following the crash.
The cause of the East Los Angeles hit-and-run is still under investigation.
