Pedestrian Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash on Sunol Drive
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (January 20, 2022) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Sunol Drive in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly after 9 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles. The driver hit the person at 1332 South Sunol Drive.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Tuttle Street. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the injuries they sustained in the accident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and then fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Sunol Drive to shut down following the incident.
The cause of the East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
