Pedestrian Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at Whittier and Saybrook
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (October 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Whittier Boulevard and Saybrook Avenue in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The accident happened on October 12 when a white colored vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles.
The driver hit the person at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Saybrook Avenue.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Saybrook Park. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help and fled westbound on Whittier Boulevard. The East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the intersection of Whittier and Saybrook to close following the collision.
