
Pedestrian Killed in East Palo Alto Crash on Ralmar Avenue
EAST PALO ALTO, CA (February 26, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Ralmar Avenue near Bay Road in East Palo Alto.
According to The Mercury News and KTVU News, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the collision on February 26 at about 10:08 a.m.
The incident happened when a car struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in East Palo Alto. The vehicle hit him in the 2200 block of Ralmar Avenue, south of Bay Road.
Man, 64, Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the victim lying unconscious on the driveway of a home. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the 64-year-old man to a hospital, where he died. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the car did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They soon located the vehicle which also slammed into two other parked vehicles and a fence of a house.
Officers forced a stretch of Ralmar Avenue to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the fatal East Palo Alto pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
