EASTVALE: Miguel Pereyra, 21, Killed in Big Rig Truck Accident
EASTVALE, California (October 13, 2014) – A 21-year-old Pomona man was killed early Saturday morning when their vehicle slide underneath big rig truck in a crash in the 12100 block of Limonite Avenue at the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway on ramp, according to a press release by the Riverside County Fire Department.
Police responded to the crash about 3:14 a.m. involving the two vehicles. The truck driver was in the middle of making a left-hand turn on a green arrow when the passenger car collided with the truck and burst into flames underneath the semi-tractor trailer truck, according to a witness report given to the Jurupa Valley Police Department.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle and did not survive. He was identified by the Riverside County Coroner as Miguel Pereyra, 21, of Pomona. The 36-year-old truck driver was not injured in the crash.
Police will continue to investigate the circumstances and will determine liability for the fatal crash.
