Eddie Chavarria IV Struck, Killed Exiting His Pickup on 91 Freeway in Corona

CORONA, CA (Sept. 22, 2026) — Eddie Chavarria IV, 48, of Riverside, was struck and killed by two vehicles on the Riverside 91 Freeway after he exited his disabled truck Friday night in Corona, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

The deadly collision occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18th, on the eastbound side of the freeway just west of South Promenade Avenue, according to the report.

The California Highway Patrol responded and located the crash in the No. 2 FasTrak lane where the man was hit by a Honda HRV and then run over by a Honda Civic. The pedestrian’s disabled Dodge Ram truck was stopped in the No. 1 lane of the main freeway.

Both motorists stopped and cooperated with authorities.

The traffic accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
