Motorcyclist Killed in Palm Springs Car Accident
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (March 18, 2019) — Eddie Lustro, 34, died in a motorcycle accident Monday morning on South Gene Autry Trail.
The motorcyclist and a driver in a sedan collided on Gene Autry Trail at Dinah Shore Drive about 8:33 a.m. Police say the driver in the sedan allegedly made an illegal U-turn and caused the collision.
Police subsequently closed down Gene Autry Trail, between Mesquite Avenue and Seven Lakes Drive.
The driver of the sedan stopped after the collision and was cooperating with law enforcement and their investigation.
Lustro, a Palm Springs American Medical Response paramedic, had just completed a 12-hour shift prior to the collision. His body was draped in a US flag as he was taken from the crash scene and a group of local paramedics paid their respects by forming a procession.
