NAPA COUNTY, Ca (September 18, 2019) – A 25-year-old woman died in a traffic collision on Dry Creek Road Monday morning, the Napa Valley Register reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed Edelmira Ruiz-Lopez, of Santa Rosa, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Lauro Felix-Quintana.
Officials said Felix-Quintana was behind the wheel of a 2003 Chevy Suburban traveling at an unsafe speed on a rain-slick roadway. The man apparently lost control of the vehicle and ended up rolling down a hill.
Per local news sources, the impact ejected both Ruiz-Lopez and Felix-Quintana. As a result of the crash, Ruiz-Lopez instantly died at the scene.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned Felix-Quintana and several other passengers suffered injuries as a result of the collision.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine precisely what triggered the accident.
