1 Dead, 2 Survived a Rollover Crash in Napa County
NAPA COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2019) — Edelmira Ruiz-Lopez, 25, of Santa Rosa, died in a solo-vehicle rollover crash Monday morning at Dry Creek Road and Wall Road in Napa County.
The crash was reported at 6:05 a.m., roughly a half mile east of the Mayacanas Fire Station, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 2003 Chevy Suburban was carrying five people when its driver veered about 15 feet off the roadway and wound up in a ditch.
Responding police and firefighters reported that a white Chevrolet Suburban overturned at the top of the hill. One person was ejected from the vehicle. Two others were still inside the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured. The woman who died had been a passenger in the vehicle. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Lauro Felix-Quintana, and three other passengers, were all from Sonoma.
The Napa Sheriff’s Office was contacted and the coroner was called to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation to determine fault.
