1 Killed, 2 Injured in Car Crash Near Comanche Drive and Edison Highway
EDISON, CA (October 3, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured two others near Comanche Drive and Edison Highway.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the fatal accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 11:39 a.m. in the Edison area.
The incident began when a Mazda was going north on Comanche Drive, approaching the intersection with Edison Highway. At the same time, a Subaru was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Mazda failed to stop at a stop sign and spun out of control. The California Highway Patrol said the car then collided with the Subaru.
Child, 9, Victim in Crash
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman driving the Mazda died as a result of the collision.
The two occupants of the Subaru, a man and a 9-year-old child, sustained minor to moderate injuries upon impact. Medical personnel soon took them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the intersection of Comanche Drive and Edison Highway to shut down for hours following the crash.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
