Esdras Velasquez Killed, Man Seriously Injured in Silver Lake Hit-and-Run Accident
LOS ANGELES (September 5, 2018) – A man was killed and another was injured after a hit-and-run crash near Glendale Boulevard and Rowena Avenue Tuesday night, according to KTLA and NBC Los Angeles
The deceased victim has been identified as 34-year-old Esdras Velasquez.
As per the reports, Los Angeles police said the two men were riding a scooter south on Glendale Boulevard near Waverly Drive when they were rear-ended by a vehicle.
The collision occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Glendale Boulevard and Rowena Avenue in Silver Lake neighborhood.

Both riders were ejected from the scooter, which was dragged for about a block and were immediately taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Velasquez was listed in grave condition with bleeding on the brain. He was in coma but succumbed to his injuries a week after the wreck.
The other victim, a 54-year-old man, was hospitalized but was soon released. His name was not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver involved allegedly removed the scooter from the suspect car which was described as a 2010 silver BMW 5 series.
The motorist and a female passenger in the BMW fled and was last seen turning the corner onto Rowena Avenue. The vehicle had possible front-end damage as a result of the incident.
