Liliana Valencia Killed; Eduardo Arteaga, Saul Arteaga and Deborah Duran Injured Lemoore DUI Crash
LEMOORE (January 21, 2018) – A child was killed and three adults were injured after an alleged DUI crash on Highway 41 early Sunday, according to The Fresno Bee.
The accident was reported at around 1:16 a.m. near Hanford Armona Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol the four victims riding a 2013 Nissan were turning onto Highway 41 from Hanford Armona Road when they were struck by a 2012 Hyundai. The Hyundai driven by 50-year-old Rodney Klamerus was going north at a high rate of speed at the time.
One of the occupants of the Nissan, a 1-year-old, was taken to the Adventist Medical Center in Hanford where the toddler later died. Kings County Sheriff’s Office identified the baby as Liliana Valencia, of Fresno.
All three adults in the Nissan were hurt following the crash. Officials identified them as 37-year-old Eduardo Arteaga, 39-year-old Saul Arteaga, and 33-year-old Deborah Duran. The two Arteagas were also transported to Adventist with unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Klamerus was seriously wounded and flown to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. He was believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the wreck occurred.
He will be booked into Kings County Jail for multiple felony charges.
