Eduardo Flores, Karina Garcia and 2 Children Injured in Turlock Car Crash
TURLOCK, CA (July 20, 2021) – A DUI crash injured Eduardo Flores and Karina Garcia near Golden State Boulevard and Griffith Avenue in Turlock.
The California Highway Patrol said the two adults and two children were victims of the collision which occurred on Saturday night.
The incident began when Eduardo Alvarez Flores was driving a 2007 silver Chevy Silverado south on Golden State Boulevard in Turlock. Karina Garcia and the juveniles were riding with him.
At the same time, a 2015 black Honda Accord was traveling behind them at a high rate of speed. CHP said the Honda did not slow and slammed into the rear of the pickup truck.
The two collided near the intersection with Griffith Avenue. The Turlock Journal and Merced GW News wrote that the accident took place on July 17 at about 8:38 p.m.
Andres Castaneda Arrested For DUI
Eduardo Flores, Karina Garcia, a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy ended up injured as a result of the Turlock crash. The boy suffered facial lacerations and head injuries following the collision.
An air ambulance took him to the Madera Children’s Hospital for treatment. The other victims sustained minor wounds upon impact.
Meanwhile, CHP found the driver of the Accord with major injuries and airlifted him to the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
They determined that 26-year-old Planada man was under the influence when he hit the Chevy. Authorities soon arrested the suspect, Andres Castaneda, for DUI.
