Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision at Higuera Street and Prado Road
San Luis Obispo, CA (February 14, 2023) – Police arrested 29-year-old Eduardo Torres in relation with a fatal traffic accident that occurred at the intersection of South Higuera Street and Prado Road.
According to the Tribune News, a vehicle struck a bicyclist at the crossing in San Luis Obispo. Earlier reports indicated a second car run over the victim lying in the roadway.
Our sources indicated the collision took place Saturday night, February 11.
Fatal Bicycle Accident in San Luis Obispo
Shortly after 9 p.m., personnel from the San Luis Obispo Police Department and San Luis Obispo City Fire Department responded to the scene. Medical personnel performed life-saving efforts to the cyclist but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
The article published online mentioned the first driver that hit the victim fled the scene. Officers later identified and located the hit-and-run suspect. Police arrested Eduardo Torres on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
