Driver Killed in Pacoima Crash is Identified
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 26, 2021) – Edvin Carias Raymundo, 45, died, five were injured in a two-vehicle collision Sunday on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Pacoima.
The multi-vehicle crash happened about 8:35 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26th, according to the KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles.
Edvin Raymundo was driving a white Toyota pickup truck when he began to make a right turn from Mercer Street onto Laurel Canyon Boulevard. He reportedly pulled out in front of a red or maroon Dodge Charger that was traveling southbound on Lauren Canyon Boulevard. Unfortunately, the Dodge crashed into the pickup truck. Subsequently, the Dodge crashed into a cinderblock wall on the outside of a nearby apartment building at 10460 Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
Edvin Raymundo suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, there were two adults and three juveniles inside the Dodge. Two required help from firefighters to free them from the wreckage. Paramedics transported all five to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The two men were treated for moderate injuries and the three children were in fair to moderate condition.
Finally, firefighters treated an 11-year-old boy who was at the apartment building for a cut finger.
The cause of the fatal Pacoima crash is still under investigation.
