Motorcyclist Killed Ocean Boulevard and Terminal Island Freeway
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2018) — A motorcyclist identified as Edward Thorp, 58, of Huntington Beach, died after colliding with a car on Ocean Boulevard and being struck by a second vehicle that fled the scene.
The crash took place on Thursday night about 7:45 p.m. at the Terminal Island Freeway. The preliminary report stated that the motorcycle rider rear-ended the first vehicle and was thrown off the bike into the path of the second motorist. He was struck by the second vehicle whose driver fled the scene. The first driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation.
Paramedics responded, but the rider died of his injuries at the scene.
It’s unknown whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved, police said.

Police are reviewing all the evidence as they try to determine liability.
