Motorcyclist Badly Injured in Egger Highlands Crash on Coronado Avenue

According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:50 p.m.

The incident happened when a 69-year-old man was riding a motorcycle east on Coronado Avenue

San Diego police said the car then made a turn in front of the motorcyclist for an unknown reason. In the process, the two collided near the intersection with 16th Street.

Motorcycle and Car Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene, just east of Imperial Beach. They found the motorcyclist who sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon took the patient to a hospital for treatment of several fractures to his left leg. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police added that the 64-year-old man driving the car and his two passengers ended up unharmed. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced the area of Coronado Avenue and 16th Street to shut down following the wreck.
