1 Hospitalized After Traffic Collision on Interstate 8 Thursday
El Cajon, CA (June 18, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Interstate 8 Thursday afternoon, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Our sources indicated a 2001 Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on I-8 Freeway. For reasons still unclear, a 1994 Chevrolet Astrovan crashed into the back of the pickup.
The collision happened east of First Street in El Cajon.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the Tacoma careened away from the roadway. The pickup truck ended up hitting a perimeter fence and rolling into the canal. The crash left the Tacoma flipped on its roof.

The article published online indicated the driver of the pickup suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. An ambulance transported the man to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 64-year-old driver of Astrovan sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck.
Additional details on the car and truck accident in El Cajon have not been discussed thus far. Detectives continue to investigate at this time the precise cause of the collision.
