Traffic Accident on Kumeyaay Highway in El Cajon
EL CAJON, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2023) — A two-vehicle El Cajon crash happened Wednesday morning on the westbound Interstate 8 Freeway, just east of State Route 67 and Magnolia Avenue.
The traffic accident occurred on Kumeyaay Highway (I-8) at around 10:23 a.m. on Nov. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a white pickup truck and a white sedan or Toyota Camry were involved in the accident.
The driver of a white pickup truck called 911 and reported the car rear-ended him at “high speed.” He told authorities the car became stuck underneath his truck and caused it to spin around. The vehicles were both blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway, police said.
The man driving the truck told CHP dispatch that he had facial injuries and required paramedics.
It’s unknown if other were also injured in the accident.
Tow trucks responded to remove the pickup truck and white sedan from the roadway.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the El Cajon crash on the 8 Freeway.
