El Cajon: Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 8

Vehicle Strikes, Kills Person Near Main Street

El Cajon, CA (March 12, 2023) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 8 Freeway Sunday night, March 12.

The San Diego Union-Tribune News reported a vehicle struck an individual in the westbound side of the freeway. Our sources indicated the horrible crash took place near Main Street in El Cajon.

According to the article published online, emergency crews responded to the accident scene shortly after 8:20 p.m. Medical personnel arrived and immediately rendered aid to the person lying on the ground. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation.

No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 8 in El Cajon.
