Pedestrian Killed in El Cajon Crash on Main Street Near Second Street

EL CAJON, CA (May 14, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian on East Main Street near Second Street in El Cajon.

According to The San Diego Union Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision on May 13 at around 10:55 p.m.

El Cajon police said the incident happened when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. The driver hit him in the 1300 block of East Main Street near North Second Street.

Elderly Man Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the man in his 70s or 80s down on the ground. He sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police added that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced a stretch of East Main Street to shut down for a time after the accident.
